Musicians: Natalio Sued ts Michael Moore as, cl, bcl Paul Berner b Flin Van Hemmen d
The Argentinean Saxophonist Natalio Sued (born 1973) is considered one of the most important jazz musicians of his country, and his is receiving increasing attention in the rest of the world too. The jazz scene in Argentina and especially in the capital Buenos Aires has made a tremendous stride forward over the past decade, and more and more musicians are attempting the leap to North America or Europe. Sued, who completed studies in classical music at the "National Conservatory Lopez Buchardo" in Buenos Aires, then studied at the renowned Berklee School of Music in the USA. He is currently studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He is one of those musicians, who deeply believes that learning never stops for an artist. Although he has completed both classical and jazz studies (supplemented by private lessons with Dick Oatts, Lee Konitz, Jimmy Halperin, Chris Cheek and others) and has performed numerous times – from tango to theater productions – he is still striving to improve his abilities both as composer and interpreter of music.
CD DetailsMusicians: Frederik Köster tr,fl-h, Tobias Hoffmann g, Robert Landfermann b, Ralf Gessler dr, Paul Heller ts
All compositions and arrangements of the CD are the work of Frederik. They demonstrate his outstanding talent, not only his ability to play trumpet and flugelhorn with a radiating and extremely soft sound in peaceful passages, but also to compose songs, which are intelligent but still very accessible.
CD DetailsMusicians: Tobi Hofmann tp, flh, melodica, Ulrich Wangenheim ts, cl, bcl, fl, a-fl, Christian Elsässer p, fender rhodes, Andreas Kurz b, Bastian Jütte dr
The six compositions and arrangements by Hofmann – complicated but still very pleasant to listen to – are mastered in just as relaxed a manner by the musicians as are the songs by Tom Harrell ("Angela"), Freddie Hubbard ("Little Sunflower") and Sidney Bechet ("Petite Fleur").

After a longer break, in part made necessary by a severe illness, but in part used for developing her music skills and new compositions, Anke Helfrich is presenting a brilliant follow-up album.

The Joe Haider Double Quartet adds a successful and very personal chapter to the history of the genre “jazz with string players”.
CD DetailsMusicians: Christian Niederer dr, Thomas Lüthi ts, Bernhard Bamert tb
The combination of saxophone, trombone and drums is a rarity, and the music is anything else but customary. The three Swiss musicians have taken on a conceptual challenge, which they master with bravura. Regardless of whether bebop lines, Mardi Gras interludes, or free jazz elements.

CD DetailsMusicians: Gary Fuhrmann ss, ts, Rainer Boehm p, rhodes Matthias Nowak b, Rene Marx dr, Martin Auer tp, Johannes Enders ts, Juergen Seefelder ts
With his debut album G-Zone, Gary Fuhrmann has created a very promising music business card, which will certainly form the basis for a successful career. He recorded four original compositions and three composed by others with the musicians of his quartet and the two tenor saxophonists Johannes Enders and Jürgen Seefelder as well as Martin Auer (by the way, “Next Generation” musician number 5) on the trumpet as guest, which do full justice to the title of the album. Seven pieces plus a humorous, fun hidden track at the end demonstrate a sensual and highly emotional, stimulating and exciting modern mainstream sound with the required touch of rough spots.
